26th Nov - 4th Dec in ITALIA

Well where do I begin with our jaunt to Italy? Of course there is much too much to tell you about so i´ll do a random selection of pics and hope like hell you get the drift as to how much action and fun was had in the country with a Love of everything and with everthing to offer!! We spent a few days and nights in Rome, checking out the Vatican, St Peters Basillica, the Sistene Chapel, the Colloseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and Mum even braved her first ever stay in a hostel. We took a train to Florence then hired a car to drive West and stay in the lush Tuscany region in an old Villa. Back to Florence to check out Michaelangelos David then off to Venice for a day and night! In total we spent 8 nights in Italy and don´t even ask how much we spent.....I am suffering severe budget cuts now after the Euro bled my wallet almost dry! I know, the monuments, churches and tourist attractions definately do get a bit much after a while but hey....we were tourists. Favourtie favourite thing for me was the food, the gelati, the chocolate, the gelati, the wine the gelati.....mmmwwwwaaaahhhh!!

Inside the Pantheon in Rome. This place was AMAZING!!!! Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panth%C3%A9on,_Paris for more gumf if you are keen

Ma and I at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, a monument we virtually stumbled across. Compared with others cities we´ve visited there is next to no signposting in Rome. My take on it is there would simply be too much to signpost! There is so much to see in this city and everythings so huge! I mean huge as in the scale of mountains!

You´ll find pumpkins the size of swiss exercise balls at the Campo di Fiori market in Rome!....can you see my mum in the background?

You´ll find pizzas the size of UFO´s everywhere!

Gelati of course!!! Another of my obsessions.

Leaning Tower of Pisa (half an hour from Lucca in the Tuscany region where we spent 3 nights)

Be careful at Fabbrica Di San Martino, it seems that the cars there past wind!!!

The standard Sunset shot which is now a feature of all updates (taken in Tuscany)

One of my early morning shots when trying to catch the sunrise in Tuscany, crap weather so the sun was no show!

St Peters Basilica at the Vatican City in Rome. Did you know that the Vatican City is a completely separate city from that of Rome. It even has its own Post Office and stamps!

Outsie Fabbrica Di San Martino where we spent 3 nights in Tuscany (www.fabbricadisanmartino.it)

Some of the thousands and thousands of handcrafted masks you will find in Venice....i´m inspired to try and make my own for a fraction of the cost you can can buy one for!

.......more Masks in Venice.

Beautiful Murano Glass rings in Venice.

Murano Glass Faces in Venice....you can sure to pay a pretty penny for these!

Some Canal action in Venice

St Marco Square in Venice, this place was HAENOUS, they sell food for you to feed the pigeons, which they demolish then probably more often than not leave their feeder a little treat behind too!!! Eeeek, I was so not into this piece of tourist action.

Ma & my last pic together, a near emotional moment, we remained strong till the end tho!!

Mum and I on our last night in Rome/Italy, we downed a couple of litres of vino and got served by an Emmanuelle-like character from Fawlty Towers!!!

Don´t know that this pic requires explanation, had you read the blurb at the beginning you will remember one of my obsessions from Italy! One segment of this was the size of a small yoghurt pottle!!
Ok that about does it for this round and i´ve had more than enough internet for another few days. I´m off to Spain and Mum is making her way back to NZ via her mate in Sydney. So until the next update I will love and leave you all. Also, to Brooke and Nick, Anton and Diana and Kris and Shane, all the best for your upcoming weddings! Gutted I can´t be there to celebrate with you all but you will be in my thoughts.
